Keeping in touch is a top priority. In this day of technology giving us umpteen ways to connect instantly, what excuse do we have to be out of touch? Grand Canyon-North Rim is remote with limited internet access and spotty cell signal. The closest towns are 75+ miles away. This summer has fleeted by me as I have been busy, distracted, disorganized, lacking discipline and long over-due for this Update to my loved ones, family, friends, fans and connections. Thank you for staying in touch.
It is a beautiful day at the Grand Canyon-North Rim! I am blessed and excited everyday to be living my dream of traveling across America and doing purposeful work, while doing good and helping people.
I have been super busy managing the Front Desk Team at the Grand Canyon – North Rim Lodge where we meet and greet visitors from all around the world at one of the World’s 7 Natural Wonders. Check it out: http://grandcanyonforever.com/north-rim/
The season ends October 16 (Happy Birthday, MOM!) with me and the BEST FRONT DESK TEAM EVER bidding farewell to the last of our guests, cleaning up, packing up and closing up. Then we will FlashMob the Survivor Party and have a final dance with our fellow 2015 Season Survivors.
It’s already September and time to WELCOME students and families BACK TO SCHOOL!! Jewelies Math Game is being played in schools from Savannah, GA to Bella Vista, AR to Page, AZ. Please Like us on Facebook and find out how you can help your local school to start playing Jewelies Math Game with their own Classroom Set.
Two of the most important things for me to bring along and keep with me are my fitness and my church. I said this out loud and shared this commitment with many family and friends before I left. It feels so good to have succeeded thus far. I have found parks, gyms, beaches, roads and trails to do Zumba, treadmill, bike, weights, jog, hog (hike-jog), trog (trail-jog) and hike. Up here on the North Rim of the Kaibab Plateau I mostly hike and trog. I love the Transept Trail along the canyon rim between my RV and the Lodge, offering beautiful views on my hike to work and home. As for my church, co-workers Abbie and Anthony represent CMNP (Christian Ministry in National Parks) every Sunday with a great service in the Auditorium. Also, a shout out to my Bad Girl Believers and having technology (Facetime) that enables me to be at the Monday Meetup whenever I am able to find a good signal!
Meeting good people, exploring interesting territory, discovering beautiful sights and experiencing life’s adventures, I am so thankful for this opportunity.
WISHING ALL OF YOU AN AWESOME AUTUMN! MAY YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE!
